Mind-AID is an online study designed to reduce repetitive negative thoughts in informal caregivers of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other neurocognitive disorders

Phase 1: Selection
If you are a family member or friend of someone living with Alzheimer's disease or another neurocognitive disorder, and if this role is causing you stress, this study is for you. By joining our project, you will participate in innovative research aimed at evaluating the effects of the Mind-AID program on the well-being of informal caregivers. To get started, simply take part in the first selection phase by filling out a short online questionnaire (click on the "Participate in Research" button). This will allow us to confirm your eligibility and ensure that the program meets your needs.

Phase 2: Intervention
Once the selection and initial assessment are completed, you will be randomly assigned to one of two intervention groups: the Mind-AID program or the educational workshop for caregivers.
You will access the Mind-AID program or the educational workshop online via our website. You will need regular access to a computer or a tablet, as well as a reliable internet connection. No advanced computer skills are required, but basic internet navigation skills will help you fully benefit from the content.
Active participation lasts 8 weeks, with a program designed to easily fit into your schedule. Throughout the program, we will invite you to complete a few questionnaires to share your experience and the impact on your well-being.

The Mind-AID Program
You will discover how mindful presence (mindfulness) can reduce stress, lower the risk of depression or anxiety, and enhance your daily well-being. By taking part in this program, you will learn to adopt effective techniques and strategies to manage stress, soothe repetitive negative thoughts, and cultivate a greater inner harmony.
Mind-AID also invites you to explore your own thoughts and emotions to strengthen your personal development, resilience, and skills as an informal caregiver. This journey could provide you with valuable tools for lasting fulfillment.

The Educational Workshop for Caregivers
You will gain a set of essential insights to enhance your role as an informal caregiver. This workshop provides an overview of best practices and strategies for supporting someone living with Alzheimer's disease or another neurocognitive disorder on a daily basis. You will learn concrete care and support techniques to strengthen your approach and ease daily challenges. The study's results could inspire more effective and tailored support programs for the informal caregivers of tomorrow.
